horror film ideas

I researched different horror film ideas and these were some of the ones that were most recommended. The research has provoked some thought into scenes I could easily adopt into my film.  I live close to woodland and this came up in the codes and conventions for the mis-en-scene for horror genre. I am going to base some parts of my short film in the wood particularly as we need a melancholic feel to the movie.I have also watched several short films to help influence my blog. I have chosen to have a masked killer in my film accompanied by 1 other character. The protagonist has been asked to set up a drug deal and the other character is his customer. I have chosen to base my film of this idea because I wanted to create a scenario that factors in something that happens everywhere, it’s part of our culture even though it’s illegal, it is frequently depicted in the movies we consume. I believed this would be a film that would draw in horror audiences because the two characters are teenagers, another convention of the horror genre. It highlights one of the social problems facing the youth of today and plays on the theme often seen in mainstream films that it is an aggressive and violent world full of double-crosses. The audience demographic of horror genre range from teenagers up to early thirties.
